My Son Chad’s family has a hobby of Painting Rocks. Today he brought over a Rock with a painting of one of the ships I served on during my Navy days. This Rock is Hand-painted by my youngest son Chad. An excellent addition to my “USS Newport News Shelves”

USS Recruit - San Diego

Any of my Shipmates that went to San Diego for Boot Camp, do you remember the USS Recruit? It still stands although the rest of RTC and NTC have been taken down. It’s been modified since the 60s but is still there if you’re ever in San Diego you can visit it.

These Young Ladies comprised of Delaware County, Pennsylvania Softball Players. This is our great niece; Brooke O’Connell.
One of our 22 Shipmates lost in 1972 was Joseph Grisafi, Springfield, Delaware County.
Brooke chose to honor Joseph Grisafi, and we could not be more proud.
Thank you ladies, and thank you Brooke.
