This is at the 2008 dedication ceremony of our museum’s captains corner. The uniform being displayed is one that belonged to Captain Leverone who was the executive officer of the 72 cruise and was on board October 1 when we lost 20 of our own. He was a terrific officer that treated everybody, officers and crew, with the utmost respect and understanding. This video captured his discussion about what a shipmate means. I have posted it before but for those that have not yet seen it I think it’s meaningful. For those of us fortunate to be there on that day, it deserved a hearty Bravo Zulu. The uniform is still on display and is one of the highlights of our museum. Rest In Peace Captain Leverone. Your crew has the watch.
